Virtual Butchulla placed users in the heart of the famous, Fraser Island. This tasked users to learn and survive as the traditional owners, the Butchulla people, had in the past prior to colonisation. The users were tasked with building a fire for the people of the village to provide warmth as the sun set. They then learnt the traditional methods of surviving sourcing from the local vegetation to craft bush food and medicine as well as hunting implements. By the end of the experience the user becomes well equipped to hunt local animals to provide a good source of food as well as foraging through the local creek beds and sourcing Warrigal Greens. The team enjoyed crafting an intricate experience for their home town city, and being able to see how the areas that they grew up around looked 250 years ago.
